I am a professional graphic designer & photographer with over twelve years of experience producing eye-catching and effective visual assets for media, marketing, and entertainment industry clients.

I am an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop CS4, and I apply my creative and technical talents to successfully achieving your unique goals on each project, every time.

R York Funston

I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Television, Film & New Media Production from San Diego State University in 1996.

I relocated to Los Angeles in 1998 to join LAUNCH Media, where we produced a monthly CD-ROM magazine and website about new music and film.  We later became Yahoo! Music, where I was Director of Production.

I left Yahoo! in 2003 to start an arts and culture web destination, which I produced for the next five years. After a decade in L.A., my wife and I relocated to Portland, Oregon.

What is RYarts?

I established RYarts, a graphic design & photography studio, when we moved from Los Angeles to Portland in 2008. On this website I communicate with my clients,  present my portfolios, and blog about relevant subjects.

RYarts

The RYarts web presence is primarily a content management system for exchanging digital assets with clients through secure back-end technology. I also offer additional online options such as screen-sharing for real-time creative collaboration.

I regularly update my graphic design & photography portfolios so prospective clients can consider the quality and consistency of my work for their specific needs.

On the RYarts blog I feature other artists, share technology tips, and pass along my production experience.
