About the Series

As a music photographer in L.A., I shot major label recording artists at the studio and in concert. During those years, I worked at legendary venues like the Roxy, the Wiltern, Whisky, and El Rey. I met rock fans at all those shows: headbangers, shoegazers, psychobillies punks, indie rockers and death poppers among them.

With this photo series, I turned my camera from the stars on stage to capture those I found equally fascinating: the fans.

These portrait montages, with streaks of personality and color, picture the visual electricity of a rock n’ roll show. Hundreds of concertgoers at 10 diverse shows in 10 storied locales participated. This is L.A. Rock Fan.
